Regular care helps your crystals stay beautiful and keeps your ritual feeling intentional. There is no single cleansing method that suits every stone, so begin by checking the crystal type and choosing a gentle method. The goal is not to prove a special effect; it is to create a mindful pause where you reconnect with the meaning of the piece.
Sound, intention, and moonlight are commonly used because they do not require moisture or direct contact with a harsh substance. A singing bowl, bell, soft music, or a few quiet breaths can mark the beginning of a reset. You can also place a crystal near a window overnight, away from heat and direct sunlight, if that feels meaningful to you.
Some crystals can scratch, dissolve, fade, or react when exposed to water or salt. Selenite, halite, calcite, gypsum, and many delicate or porous stones should be kept dry. Avoid placing unknown crystals in salt water. When in doubt, use sound, smoke from a suitable incense, or a dry cloth instead.
For crystal bracelets, pendants, and malas, wipe the stone and metal gently with a soft, dry cloth. Keep jewellery away from perfume, hairspray, chlorine, and prolonged moisture. If a piece has elastic, thread, glue, or plated metal, avoid soaking it even when the stone itself is water-resistant.
Store pieces separately when they have different hardness levels or sharp points. A fabric pouch, lined box, or clean display tray can prevent scratches and dust. Keep valuable jewellery secure and avoid leaving crystals in hot cars or strong, direct sunlight.
You might refresh a meditation stone once a week, wipe jewellery after wearing it, and review your collection at the start of each month. Use the moment to ask what intention still feels useful and what action you want to carry forward.
